Not affirmative, but older cards (GF9 and lower) don't seem to be
affected. Also not affected -- and this is affirmative -- is the legacy
173 driver with a GeForce FX 5900XT on Natty 32bit.

What's the status on this bug? I also ran into it (Natty 64bit, GeForce
GTX 240, nVidia 270.41.06 from natty-restricted).
Did anyone already try with driver version 275? I'd do so myself if I
knew that I could completely remove it again in case I want/need to.

I haven't had trouble after I swapped my Logitech USB keyboard with a
Dell PS/2 one. But then I have had days without problems before. Alt-Tab
might be again keyboard related? I don't know. But yes, if you have a
Logitech USB keyboard, you might want to try swapping it for something
else.

This is a regression of Bug #275285. The problem was caused by 965GM not
working correctly with framebuffer compression (FBC).
In #275285 the solution was to disable FBC in xserver-xorg-video-intel code on

Ubuntu better. This particular bug has already been reported and is a
duplicate of bug 801763, so it is being marked as such. Please look at
Dual Athlon MP with MGA550 - with hardware or software cursor (see log
in 801994).
Was OK on Lucid, went through upgrade to Maverick and then Natty; was ok
in Lucid, didn't stay in Maverick long enough to check.
Given the range of hardware I doubt it's a driver issue.

(which has this bug) - maverick wasn't tried long enough to notice.
The mouse cursor disappears on a bunch of applications when you wouldn't

bisect001 boots every time. I have no problems with CPU use either.

When I try to use the menu launcher for "AMD Catalyst Control Center
(Administravtive Mode)", the amdxdg-su program starts and brings up a
small text window with a prompt for the superuser (root) password.
Upon entering my regular user password (as is the default with Ubuntu)
this is what I did to get through to install xkb-data:
download of the 386 build of xkb-data_1.1 latest version here:

Then did a simple "dpkg -i" on it. This did the trick.

Tried Xorg intel driver from maverick but no luck. Then tried maverick's
kernel with both intel drivers and they work, so I think the bug is in
the kernel's intel vga part, not xserver-xorg-video-intel.
However, if I press Fn-F8, tvout turns off permanently and I can't re-
enable it until a reboot

Confirmed in Oneiric. The workaround is to disable 'Disable Touchpad
while typing' in the touchpad preferences (run 'gnome-control-center
