I encountered this bug for the first time with a X update from xorg-edgers ppa
for oneiric, last december iirc.
It seems to be present in the xorg-edgers X stack, and in the default 12.04 X
stack too.
There are other input bugs that may be linked to this one, like "never
revealing Unity launcher
I am going to try and test a different xorg-input-synaptics driver, that
doesn't have the ubuntu patches at all and see if I can replicate the
issues I've been happening (3 finger tap regressing to being recognized
as single tap after suspend/resume).

the 3 finger started being recognized as single click again, I had to
reboot to fix it. Today I was able to fix it by simply logging out and

I tried 12.1 version on HP ProBook 4530s and it works. At least AMD card
works with full direct rendering. When I switch to Intel from amd CCC, I
don't have direct rendering for some reason. But, AMD card works and
that is almost good enough for me. :D

I downgraded xorg-server-core to 2:1.10.4-1ubuntu4.2 and then pinned it
back. Everything works well now, but obviously this needs to be fixed.
Here's the steps for anyone else experiencing this problem. Install
aptitude if you don't already have it.

problem.
However I still think this is bug or at least new unwanted feature.
There shouldn't be any reason for video driver to execute anything from /tmp.
