The 11.10 CD would not install from Try It mode. The box hung again
with the same symptoms: no keyboard and mouse (both are USB) and the
display frozen in some odd resolution.
So I made a 12.04 CD (from a Windows box) and booted it and tried to
install, and got the same thing: The box hung again
Affects me too. Doesn't happen every time. I just tested and did ~10
open and closes and all was fine. Then it did freeze. This time, at
least, I was able to Crtl+Alt+F1 into the console (I hadn't tested this
before), but what should I do from there? I was able to shutdown from
there, saving me
It seems that things are better with the 295.49 release but still not
back to normal - for example, opening a new tab in gnome-terminal takes
two or three seconds to complete whereas before such an operation was
instantaneous.
I don't think this is fixed yet.

suggest that libwacom doesn't know about the device, therefore g-s-d
doesn't know it's supposed to be a builtin device (info which should

I only changed in /etc/X11/xorg.conf in Section Screen the Option metamodes
1440x900 +0+0; nvidia-auto-select +0+0 into
metamodes 1440x900_60 where 60 is my native lcd refresh rate.

evtest-capture file but it's not quite enough.
Specifically, I need:
- the event log of the bug when the cursor jumps (the previous file contained
that)
- an event log of scrolling in that scroll area on the right
- an event log

I just did a clean, fresh-install of the final Kubuntu 12.04 (amd64) and
only installed openssh-server and nomachine's NX. I am experiencing
exactly this bug here as well.

I've exactly the same comments than #30. I've tried with kernel 3.4 :

i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux. The only warning I can see in Xorg log is
