point I got no time left, the code I used is there. I made 4 attempts to
correct the code with 4 different sources. I even grabbed archlinux

I have to add that I got problems on 2 other laptops using Trident and
Intel graphics boards and I had to revert to 12.04, because those became
unusable. I therefore do not recommend anything other than 12.04 for an
usable, stable system.

the nouveo driver, because when I switch to the properitar nvidia driver the
backlight control works also fine after suspend.

Screen resolution does not fall
This bug seems to be fixed for me on raring for Zenboox UX31E (sandy
bridge). Earlier I didn't notice the bug at all since I only rarely used
external monitor. The original reported also had SB, so if someone with

Yes, deleting the xorg.conf file and adding sleep 10 to the
/etc/init/lightdm.conf can also be used as a workaround.

I had the total freeze problem as well. Yesterday night, the computer froze 7
or 8 times in three hours. Today, I installed gnome 3 and used it for a few

would expect that from fglrx-updates I guess.

But I use Arch and have had this on KDE 4.9 and 4.10 RCs. Probably 4.8 too.
Just like the reporter my cursor corrupts on the line between my screen 1 and

intel-ivy-bridge from the beginning . I don't think the freeze is related to
the windows manager. But to me it seems that the freeze depends on whats going

First, say it froze or locked up. crashes are something different
entirely. :-)
Second, when you get gpu freezes, you need to collect the output of
'dmesg' and your /sys/kernel/debug/dri/0/i915_error_state file. Both of
