I posted it. Fixing it would take a major rewrite of Xorg, so the workaround is
the best option for those who have this issue. I just moved the position of my
monitor to fix my mouse issue.

If you can still reproduce the crash, give this patch a try. It skips
damaging the pixmap on rotation if there's no drawable. So, possibly
this could result in less pretty rotation animations but only in
situations where X would otherwise be crashing.

I also tested with the screen rotated (xrandr -o 1). Hitting the key
combination under unity causes the screen to return to normal
orientation, however the xserver did not crash. Also attempted to use
the key combo while rotating the screen simultaneously but also did not

long enough, the shortcuts menu pops up (normally), but Win+P gives me

After upgrading from 12.10 to 13.04 on a system with two monitors, the
second one became very dim. In fact, it's so dim that I thought it was
blank. Both monitors are fine when booting up and they both show the
"Ubuntu" name with 5 circles under

its animation. I'm thinking this is more likely unity at this point...

Yep, I found Ubuntu 3.8.0-7-generic in one of my old backups. Too bad
Ubuntu doesn't maintain a repository of kernels from previous daily
builds. And actually, I'm surprised that they don't. Oh well. Guess
I'll either wait until this bug is fixed before a clean install of the
final release or
