after several minutes the Computer is "freezing" and i cannot do
anything anymore. No mouse and no keybord is working any more. It looks
like the system is frozen!

Problem with video after suspending the machine and wake
This also happens when you copy a link to the desktop from the menu
instead of just linking. The app is marked with a cautionary sign and
there is a warning message indicated on the taskbar which you can't see
because the mouse doesn't respond and the dialog window is not

Yes, I donwgraded in chroot Gnome Shell to this version :
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/3.26.0-0ubuntu2/+build/13517504
After it boots normally and I get the login screen, then the Ubuntu
Gnome Shell session, all works.
Developers are testing commits: I tried the 2 here
So with this gnome-shell downgrade you can get past Plymouth into GDM
reliably? I will try at home as well...

Tried to downgrade Gnome Shell :

My home is encrypted (ecryptFS) so gdm can't access to
~/.config/monitors.xml
There is not another one :

SSH'ing into the computer whilst it was frozen didn't work because the
whole machine was locked up - so the terminal in the locked up machine
didn't respond even when accessing it via SSH. Is there a way to make
those logs persistent?
