Hello,
I was in the same situation
1x mini DP
1x DisplayLink USB3 to DVI/VGA
1x Laptopscreen Lenovo x230
And my mouse cursor blink, disapear or duplicate on some top bar of some
windows.
I'm using Linux Mint (based on Ubuntu) and to solve this problem, I
added 2 lines on my /etc/environment :
Workaround:
1. sudo apt install xserver-xorg-input-synaptics
2. Log out
3. On the login screen select session "Ubuntu on Xorg"
4. After logging in, disable hysteresis:
synclient HorizHysteresis=0 VertHysteresis=0
This won't cure laggy hardware but it will at least eliminate the
software lag
Don't forget to also 'chmod 644 /etc/X11/xorg.conf' or else logging in
may fail.

Sorry for this being filed under xorg, but I do not get "Wayland"

After logging in to Ubuntu 17.10 in Wayland, the mouse cursor flickers shortly
and then is gone.
In XOrg session all is fine.
I had no issues with the cursor in the artful beta release - I was using
Update:
I did a full 17.10 reinstall as last attempt.
I can confirm the following symptoms:
- When both 4k displays are connected to the docking (displayport MST), UI
login screen is already hanging (see earlier screenshot)
- When 1 x 4K display is connected it works. When connecting 2nd
After upgrade from 17.04 to 17.10 I can only change brightness if I log

Xorg, nvidia & gnome: not ok
Wayland, nouveau & gnome: not ok
