I have been a victim of the same behaviour on Debian* for about 6 months.
The computer, assembled with amd64 architecture, crashes with both Debian 9 and
Debian 10, both with proprietary NVidia and Nouveau drivers.

Title:
Since my upgrade from 19.04 to 19.10 my T430 is facing a similar problem
with i915 fifo underruns:
The problem occurs by switching from user A to B. If user A is logged in
and want to switch to another user B (e.g. admin), then after entering
the credentials of the user B, the system hangs up.

With linux-image-5.0.0-23 I had no problems. Following an update linux-

Removing 5.3.0 brings the system back.

I've marked this as affecting me but I've just realised that I'm using a

Yes, this bug also affects me.
I upgrade from Kubuntu 19.04 with 5.0 kernel to 19.10 with 5.3 kernel, and got
described behaviour:
1. On 5.0 there is no problems (if I boot it in 19.10)
2. on 5.3 with default settings - there is a black screen after try to resume.
3. If I choose XRender with 5.3
