At some point today, I notice my built in monitor is all black but still
on when I use the laptop external monitor.
When I unplug the HDMI cable, I dont see anything in the built in
display, only the black screen.
Restarting the computer shows the usual things in the
btw, this bug should be fixed with the nouveau river in 5.7 (and
backports should follow soon for 5.4, 5.5 and 5.6)

The issue only reproduced on first thunderbolt port which next to escape key.
The external monitor doesn't lit up even though xrandr shows it is connected.
Switching output modes by hotkey or GUI doesn't help.

Looks like I've found issue on my side - VGA cabel has one pin broken.
I've checked on other comp - the same. Sorry for issue - it may be
closed. Not related to software problems.

Xorg crash
The attachment 'Xrandr.txt' shows that Xorg doesn't think any external
monitor is attached. And it should be getting that information from the
kernel...
The next step is to ask the kernel directly. Please run:
grep . /sys/class/drm/*/status > outputs.txt
and then attach the resulting text
