So it looks like this has to do with the Wacom driver. I am able to get
it to work again but without being able to configure the tablet itself.
However the pen is recognized and working fine.
What I did is specifically add my tablet to the file
/usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/70-wacom.conf by adding
1.20.12 should arrive soon, but I'll include the patch in the meantime

I wonder if the issue is that intel-media-driver 21.1.1+dfsg1-1 was
released several months ago and that it requires intel-gmmlib of the
same version series. Because intel-gmmlib didn't get upgraded to
21.1.1+ds1-1 until recently and even then it only exists in 21.10
updates. Not in 21.04.

OK it sounds like a real bug.
The "undefined symbol" is actually well defined on my machine. It exists
in:
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libigdgmm.so.11.2.0
which comes from package:
libigdgmm11:amd64 21.1.1+ds1-1
So please check that you have that installed.

At first i did not know that the problem was caused by the ppa. However
i think that the MESA drivers should always be upgraded to the latest
stable version. Ubuntu should handle the MESA packages like firefox.
