Can confirm this bug persisted on my Thinkpad L430 with Xenial 16.04.1
with kernel 4.4.0.81. However, it was fixed by manually updating the
kernel to the latest version (4.8.0.58) by running
sudo apt-get install --install-recommends xserver-xorg-hwe-16.04
Now, I don't see the flicker anymore.

Do not see mouse pointer.
Here is what I did:
sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg-input-mtrack-lts-trusty
sudo apt-get remove --purge xserver-xorg-input-synaptics-lts-*

I don't think so this can be a reason. In my case i was working with 3-4
normal application and it get auto logged off just after login.
Requesting to developers to check this issue, as this getting irritated
day by day. Also there is issue of hang while leaving system idle for
20-30 min.

After running this command on my system I am getting following message :

Is this uploaded in the launchpad,
If it is a generic situation why it is happening with all of the people
suddenly, I believe there is some problem in this release then ubuntu
11.04 ?
Kindly look into the same as i am also effected from this symptom.
Earlier every thing was fine what happened just after upgrading from
10.10.

Now please look into this bug. In case you need any more details kindly

I have updated my nvidia driver to as u said ie 185.18.14... Things are
fine for now. Give me some time till i experiment with various softwares
which need high graphics demand like various games and secondlife also.
