kernel option.

Every time i boot with kernel 5.3 I can see the services loaded (I disable
splash screen), the screen is black when requiring the user credentials.
I switch to tty1 and the pc runs well, the I reboot to kernel 5.0.
With kernel 5.0 everything is good.

I've done 2 tests on 2 different machines.
1) nvidia 960m, bionic-proposed: everything up to date except for
ubuntu-drivers-common. Nvidia driver is working when selected with
prime-select but switching to intel (prime-select intel) does not work.
Nvidia is still running.
2) nvidia 970m,

I am not sure whether this is a xorg or kernel issue. xorg is not installed.
When I reported the bug, I could only select xorg when reporting a display
error.
The apport-collect command does not update this bug because:
Package xorg not installed and no hook available,
Using 4.4.0-24-generic from 16.04, I still have the issue.
$ DRI_PRIME=1 glxgears
gives black screen
and
$ DRI_PRIME=1 glxinfo|grep "OpenGL renderer"
OpenGL renderer string: Gallium 0.4 on AMD OLAND (DRM 2.43.0, LLVM 3.8.0)

Still having the problem with the 295.40-0ubuntu1 driver under Kubuntu - KDE
gets a framerate of around 0,2 fps - so completely unusable. Without
compositing or Xrender compositing its usable but not really fast.
glxgears give around 5 fps with the last settings - for my card (6150SE/nforce

While waiting for clear step by step instructions (my mother tongue is
not English and I'm not expert) to modify delay parameter -i to help
on solving the issue with results from my tests, I inform that the
solution reported on comment #21 (thick paper on the palm rest) seems to
work at moment
I write a little script that turn off/on locical cpu.
It must be launch before suspend:
locical_cpu.sh disable
and launch again after resume:
locical_cpu.sh enable
all should work fine as for me.

on i5 cpu systems as mine, if you disable logic cpu all will work fine.
I done:
echo 0 /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu1/online
echo 0 /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu3/online
and when I wake up my system all works fine and smooth (flash full screen
videos too)
I upgraded my bios on my HP dv6-2129el to latest version.
Now suspend / resume works better but system needs to reboot (cpu goes high
and down on X now)
