[Natty] System Monitor does not show the process Xorg.

I learned that the command '~$ gksu gnome-system-monitor' will show all
processes owned by root. So it shows Xorg as well. This is in contrast to
gnome-system-monitor's behaviour in Lucid and is not reflected in man 1
gnome-system-monitor.

I saw a warning triangle in the gnome panel which had not been there for
several hours. I called Update Manager. After I entered my password, a
dialog window appeared telling me that X11 has crashed.

Rather, an ncurses recovery menu appears but lets me not shut down the computer.
I'd like to emphasize that the same bug appears on another laptop computer

Today my setting is still System Preferences Power Management Power
Management Preferences On AC Power ( Actions) When laptop lid is
closed:=Suspend. When I closed the lid today, the hard disk ceased spinning.
When I opened the lid the hard disk re-started spinning but the display screen
