With the post #4, I thought that I had given an answer to what occurred with
karmic on my pc.
About Lynx, it works fine. Good recognition of the resolution.

Since a new install from lifeCD(10.04 final release), on a new formated

I still have crashes that seem to concern xorg. While using firefox the screen
becomes black. No possibilities to get it back with
ctlr+alt+back et no tty. So, switch off on the central unity.
I have send a report through ubuntu-bug .
I just add here what you probably found in that report

Hi, I did the upgrade from jaunty to karmic
I did not use the cd-live.
Today I have just boot on the cd-life ,and there is no more any problem with
the resolution (using the cd-live)
