*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 294076 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/294076 Had similar issue, text on drop down menus and buttons was randomly invisible when sliding mouse over them. For me problem was solved by disabling desktop effects completely. I have nvidia graphic card too.
