Shucks, replacement of bios did not fix. Just happened again, but after 30 minutes of similar actions. Did not do much work yesterday had other things to do. Once again seems to be related to accessing a drop down data list in the browser. Not the identical symptom, previously at least twice

Thanks for this advice. A little early to tell as I never could generate the error. But I did have a common symptom that being a drop down list in a browser would yield a black square instead of the list then my window manger would not react to mouse clicks or keyboard input. I did the BIOS
