After BIOS upgrade, the problem is still reproducible. There is no improvement,
I get the same error message.

I also see this issue. I was hoping to switch back to open source
drivers, but I need MST to work. I am also affected by Bug 1493888 but
have been able to keep running since I kept my old 3.19.0-31-generic
around.
