occurring, and will hopefully be ready to go in the mainline kernel by
the Linux 2.6.35 kernel this summer.

I had a hard time starting X, probably because of Bug #419126. It would freeze
until I created an xorg.conf with Option DRI 0 and bypassed gdm with startx.

António, for measuring power draw on a notebook try 'powertop' or right click
the power icon in the notification area for 'Power History'. 'cat
/proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/state' could work too, but the path might have changed
since I last used it (can't test).

With karminc alpha4 there is big improvements. The fan is much quieter
then with the older driver. Is there a way I can have real numbers
testing the two drivers?
Anyway, my fan is much much quieter now. The system is usable with the
radeon driver finally :).
