Hardy has xserver-xorg-video-via but it doesn't work well, so I installed
another driver for my via vn896, the driver is downloaded from
http://linux.via.com.tw/support/downloadFiles.action
The driver works well in hardy but the lcd backlight does not turned on
automatically when gdm start.

Please attach again the Xorg.0.log files and describe it, from which
distribution it was taken.
