I can also confirm that it still affects me in 11.10. Reducing window
size makes the content appear in 11.10 and it used to do so in 11.04.
But that is not a lot of consolation, in some cases the window had to be
reduced beyond practicality in order to show content. :-(

Small addition to the blank window situation... If I reduce the size of
the affected window gradually, the content eventually returns.
Unfortunately to get this to happen the window has to be way-below
optimum size and the problem comes back as soon as the window is
expanded beyond its threshold
I experienced the same behaviour (reducing window size would eventually
reveal window content) in 11.04. In 11.10 unity hardly works at all...
all windows are white.

Thank you for bringing this bug to our attention. However, a paper

True, my friend...
I dare to say, that nvidia has release No. 275.19 which is newer and
they claim they fixed some bugs which sounds to be our issue.

I just mentioned, because some people here wrote about Unity, I want
developer to know, that I do not use Unity at all and have this problem.
But guys, check this
http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_itempx=OTY3Ng - coult this
be the fix? New nVidia driver available. Please, someone try it
I have 275.09.07 nvidia driver installed - still get blank windows if
they get too big.
IIUC, Ubuntu developers seem to blame Nvidia for the problem - has
Nvidia actually _acknowledged_ it? They released their new driver quite
a long time after this bug here was discussed so it'd be good to know

Same problem here since weeks on my (rather old) Vaio with 1GB RAM and a
Nvidia GeForce 6200 with 128 MB RAM. But white windows only appear, when
logging into the unity session; the unity-2D session works flawalessly.
This happened with the old Nvidia drivers and happens with the new
Nvidia driver
I have disabled unity ASAP. But I have this white/transparent window
problem - first time in my life using the lastest Ubuntu. It is really
annoying. Of course, I have Nvidia. But if it is their fault, then using
old drivers should fix the problem (which did not - according to some
subscribers)...
In every case thus far, the old drivers did fix the problem. This problem
only applies to certain models of older integrated nVidia cards from what we
can tell. Unity is not the problem, I don't know why you think disabling
that will help. Unity just manages the windows, it doesn't draw them.
The same white screen with latest nvidia drivers (275.09.07).

Have anyone tried the latest (275.33) nvidia drivers?

Happened always when maximize windows with option Keep previews of
minimized windows turned ON in Workaround plugin in compiz. Also I
didn't see that previewing minimized windows works (Ubuntu 11.04 and
Mint 11), so I turned this off and for now I didn't see white window.

Why is this bug still not in progress? Too bad I am not a programmer,
but I cannot understand why this bug still seems to be a dead horse...
What can I do to bring this into the light so there can be something
done about it?
