Marking medium - looks like an uncomon issue, but renders the system

I'm having a similar problem, the screen freezes an I can only
manipulate the mouse curser. I can see that the curser still is context
sensitive (changes to I-beam shape over text-fields etc), but there is
no other response from X. Attaching to a different console (ctrl-alt-#)

X. Always dispatched me into Ubuntu Classic, even with Ubuntu

With stock kernel I can reproduce my issue less then in a hour.
And this is ubuntu's mainline repo.
Seems I have a bit different error with same result, but you may try.
You can always boot to stock kernel.
I hope this testing result will point ubuntu kernel team to backport
driver changes.

Okay, attached the logs. Also did some testing - simulating high CPU
load doesn't trigger that behaviour. Loading the GPU also doesn't
trigger this.

I can see the same freez on my Acer Acpire 1810tz with intel graphics. It
