This is a fairly common error with ATI Catalyst, but it was supposedly fixed in Catalyst 11-8 (and you appear to be using Catalyst 11-10). Since you're using a version of Catalyst not specifically tested with Ubuntu, I'm guessing the Ubuntu devs will not touch this one. My suggestion to you
