When booting into ubuntu classic (no effects) and then enabling compiz
with `compiz --replace` it causes the same problem. Killing compiz
unfreezes it. Disabling the compiz 'OpenGL plugin' (pretty essential),
also prevents the freeze.

I did a clean install of natty on the affected machine. As with the live
CD/USB, it has the same problem - both monitors are completely garbled
when I enable dual non-mirrored monitors. I ran apport-collect 706890
(again, I have no idea why it only lists Dependencies.txt in the
preceding message,

same here - since i've updated to 11.04, i can't change brightness with
Fn + Up/Down (dell vostro 3700 with nvidia gt330)
please fix this..
