Create a Script with the desired Refresh Rate and mark it as excutable
and add it to startup Programs:

Now i dont have to open CCSM after every restart and got my 60hz
refresh-rate.
I'm not an expert, I only like Ubuntu Philosofy, but is really hard
for me to manage the problem that Bruno Girin explains (better then

I experience the same error several times a day. So far I haven't been
able to identify what causes the problem, but in the past 4 days I had
like 20 crashes. In these cases screen locks up for ~5 seconds than

@Robert: this is not really a Unity problem. The user is trying to use
fglrx/Catalyst and it is not installed properly, so there's no 3D
acceleration available. Normally, Unity falls back to software 3D

will not work correctly

Checked through synaptic. linux-headers generic not installed so installed and
Try reinstalling fglrx package now that headers are installed
sudo apt-get purge fglrx-updates fglrx-amdcccle
sudo apt-get install fglrx
Then, reboot.

The reason I haven't followed up recently is because I downgraded to

vga=792 nomodeset to the kernel arguments, and I provided an
