froze completely. I couldn't kill Xorg or switch to ttyys (via Alt-
Control-F1..F4) and my only option was a hard reboot.
I am using Thinkpad T450s with all the latest patches applied. I am

a *desktop* system based on Vivid+overlay. I only see this on my N4, so
it seems specific to either arm or the phones themselves or both.

Ok, another interesting data point. If I use '--rootless --flatten' and
remove Compiz from the equation, then scaling is fine, so it seems it's

Wily gives me fits with hashing. Can't read text even.
Xenial slightly better. Text sent out by Ubuntu is totally hashed. Text I
type in on the terminal window is readable. Wallpaper and images are hashed
unintelligible.
Current
This seems like the same problem I am having. If I allow the display to
go to sleep, I cannot get it to come back on. I can change to terminal
with Ctrl+Alt+F1 and restart lightdm or just reboot. In the meantime,
until this bug is resolved, I have disabled turning the display off to
save power.
FYI... This started happening after upgrading to 15.04 from 15.10 via
the Software Updater.

This bug is related to the intel graphics driver, which is used by
compiz. However is not a compiz as I managed to crash xorg in a XFCE
session as well while watching a movie with VLC.
Disabling compiz windows animations helps as workaround for this bug
while opening new windows/menus, but does
Waaait a minute... Is it Mir just reporting junk screen dimensions on
'flo'? Does anyone have a flo and able to tell me what the output of
'mirout' is?

Can't log out with wily-proposed update. The update may have a problem
with gdm(I am using Ubuntu GNOME 15.10). Fedora 22 had the same problem
with gdm but then they solved it by applying a different patch or
disabling SELinux.

- XCloseDisplay, or by normal program termination. This affects xprop and
- GTK applications (they temporarily open a connection to the X server to
- obtain the value of the AT_SPI_BUS property on

Although if there ever were any crashes related to this bounce, they
have probably been fixed now.
The only remaining annoying part about this bug I can see is if you use
non-rootless mode; resize the root window and then lose your last X
client. The Mir connection+window

I just did a fresh install of ubuntu 15.10 on my Nuc5i5ryh with a iiyama
Prolite B2888UHSU and everytime I boot I get the message "Could not
apply the stored configuration for monitors". When I kill the message it
puts me back on a undesired resolution, and I have to set the
