[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1610591] Re: Video acceleration regression for Radeon Xpress 200M (r300) in xorg-lts-xenial & xorg-lts-wily
I've just upgraded the kernel to 4.4.0-34-lowlatency by installing the linux-image-lowlatency-lts-xenial package. Video acceleration works just fine combined with the xserver-xorg-video-radeon-lts-vivid (DRI2). Problems begin when using xserver-xorg-video-radeon-lts-wily or xserver- xorg-video-radeon-lts-xenial. Tearing ensues, regardless of the presence of a xorg.conf config file to enable/disable options to improve framerate. Enabling DRI3 only worsens the performance regression, and accentuates tearing. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-lts-transitional in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1610591 Title: Video acceleration regression for Radeon Xpress 200M (r300) in xorg- lts-xenial & xorg-lts-wily To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-lts-transitional/+bug/1610591/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1610952] [NEW] upgrade error
Public bug reported: upgraded system from 14 to 16.04. LTS using the online system updates that are regular used by my as this is my workstation. Once finished only one of three monitors would show the desktop and login prompt. Once my password was entered a short dialogue box appeared and it showed I had an error. The screen with in about 3 seconds after I typed my password was able to show the error which was ambiguous, the logged me out. I was stuck with a system that runs my workstation, and unable to login. I chose to use a DVD and run the set-up from a disk, I had done the online update option. Once I did this I was able to work. I did choose to save my previous OS, however now I basally have a triple boot system, as I already had a dual boot, from Debian 8 , to Ubuntu that works fine, now I have a generic Ubuntu that is at the latest version, my set-up working upgraded system which works, and my other Debian system that works, Then I was able to go in and change my graphics card to use the non generic drive and login and set it to a nvida. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1610900] [NEW] only 2 from 3 Monitors will be known for the system
Public bug reported: Ubuntu 16.04: VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Caicos [Radeon HD 6450/7450/8450 / R5 230 OEM] After update from 14.04 to 16.04 the system detects only 2 from 3 monitors correctly. 1 from 3 monitors is not correct detectet for geometry-data. If i change the order on the graphic-card interfaces, a other monitor will not detect correctly. It is possible to set the right values via xrandr. If i try to use only 2 Monitors (1 is diswired) and set them up with the system-tool in the settings, the system cant't remember to the setting after reboot.
