Hello. I am having issues consistently with this laptop and the Nvidia
drivers in 19.04. I have tested this on Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Ubuntu Budgie,
and Ubuntu MATE. This is with both the recommended 418 driver as well as
390. Today I tried installing the latest daily of Ubuntu
I get the same problem when I tried to update the package.
I'm using Ubuntu 18.04

bug I am encountering. With *this* bug, one sees a black screen *with*
a cursor, my symptoms are different, as the laptop panel is failing
display link training, so nothing is
I just tested with a fresh install of 19.04 (booted up with nomodeset
and installed). After installation I confirmed I was running
5.0.0-11.12, but the laptop panel link training issue is still present
(Dell XPS 9575) causing a black screen on boot. The only way to boot is

Legacy laptop, Dell Vostro 1720, booted to black screen after fresh full
disk install. Using ctrl-alt-f2 to drop to a terminal and issuing
"startx" completed the boot process.
Installed NVidia 340 driver which crashed the current session and sent
me to an endless GUI
This problem was solved by qemu [1], so this mesa bug can be closed.
