I should add that I'm experiencing a major performance impact with
EXANoDownloadFromScreen, so it might not be worth it.
Looks like there is another Ubuntu bug report linked to the same xorg
issue, Bug #291053, maybe this should be marked as a duplicate of that.

On my Macbook Pro 1.1 (X1600 M56P) the Jaunty (kubuntu) ATI driver seems
to lock the machine up as soon as KDM comes up. Upgrading to

I'm not really sure how to best describe this bug, so I think it would

/etc/X11/xorg.conf attached. The only changes made since upgrading to
9.04 were attempts to get a working video driver without this issue -
hence fglrx and ati are on commented out lines.
I may have made other changes before I upgraded, but this issue was not
present before upgrade.

When the newest kernel was released in Karmic nvidia-glx-173 fails to load
properly.
This is on a Jaunty upgrade to Karmic. Removing and purging the drivers and
everything related to nvidia than installing *-173 still fails to run.

I use Nvidia Geforce 7600 GT. Whenever i set my gamma setting, it always
reset back to 1.00 after i restart my computer. I notice it from my LCD screen,
it become brighter then before ( because i set my gamma below 1.00 ). But if i
