[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 873482] [NEW] elantech: Touchpad always reports 3 finger tap as 1 finger tap
You have been subscribed to a public bug: I have an ETPS/2 Elantech touchpad in my Asus Eeepc and since installing oneiric, 3 finger taps always registers as whatever TapButton1 is set to in synclient. The touchpad would appear to use the version 2 protocol, since it has 6 bytes per packet. I reported this issue against linux instead of xserver-xorg-input- synaptics because booting into the natty kernel (2.6.38-11) in oneiric fixes the issue and 3 finger taps work correctly. As further testing, I built a kernel from linus's git (so it doesn't have the elantech version 3 patches included with the latest oneiric kernels), and 3 finger tap still didn't work, so my guess it is a problem with one of the changes to include the new kernel multi-touch code. I don't know if this means there is a bug in this new code, or some issue with xserver-xorg-input-synaptics and the new code. I reverted the multi-touch changes in drivers/input/mouse/elantech.{c,h} (back to the version in 2.6.38, still need to figure out exactly where the changes were introduced), rebuilt just the psmouse module and 3 finger tap works correctly again, so if it is a kernel problem, it would appear to be localized to just that module. I will continue to investigate, any assistance is appreciated. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 874361] [NEW] Oneiric introduces severe flickering when adjusting brightness
You have been subscribed to a public bug: A Samsung X125 subnotebook. Upgraded from Natty last night. First noticed this when pulling the AC power, brightness is reduced, as usual, but the brightness setting slides up and down like crazy. After a while I also see this when adjusting brightness with the Fn + arrow keys. My "solution" has been to force it all the way down or up, depending on my needs, by using the Fn + arrow keys. There is no specific amount of keypresses that finally makes the flickering stop and brightness to settle on either max or min brightness. Have never experienced this bug before, so I'm assuming this is a regression. I have exactly the same issue on my core i5-2520M with hd 3000 sandy bridge graphics. These artifacts are very annoying and only occur at the edges of transparent textures, like you will see on the screenchot. Same thing occurs in Osmos, but only edges of all textures are visible. Next thing: when i use the minecraft internal screenshot feature, the screenshot captures the texture error, but for the next ~10 seconds the graphics are COMPLETELY normal as they should be, but after short time the sky-colored artifacts shine through again. ** Attachment added: "Minecraft texture errors on hd 3000" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/829086/+attachment/2544122/+files/2011-10-14_17.20.30.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/829086 Title: Artifacts in 3D with Sandy Bridge To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/829086/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 874241] [NEW] Wrong resolution in GDM when using external monitor connected to laptop [8086:0116]
Public bug reported: When booting with an external monitor attache, the external monitor shows a stretched-out display, which the laptop monitor shows two black bars on each side of a lesser-resolution GDM display. This problem persists after logging in and is illustrated by these pictures: GDM display: https://launchpadlibrarian.net/8041/IMG_20110920_091338.jpg In-session display: https://launchpadlibrarian.net/80418884/IMG_20110920_091318.jpg It's rather common to boot with the screen connected, so the use case for this really is problematic as the Ubuntu splash doesn't look right when a workstation is started like this. I happen to be in an environment where everyone runs Windows and cosmetic details like this really undermine confidence in Ubuntu. This was also tested with a 11.10 nightly 3 weeks ago. I have to use the monitors utility every-time the system is rebooted to adjust resolutions. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 559189] Re: [RV410] Screen gets unreadable
I've tried both approaches, radeon.conf and kernel parameter but no luck. I did notice change in the amount of stretch though. In my case agpmode=4 was "only" twice as wide as it should be.
