With the new 304.43 drivers, the issues are still there. Glxgears now
reports that it runs in sync with the monitor refresh rate (60FPS).
This issue is driving me nuts! Nouveau is also not a proper option for
me, since the whole desktop experience looks seriously stretched. The

I had the same situation described in comment #12, and changing screen
resolution, even down to 1024x768, didn't help much. It did reduce the
flashing and black screen, but not enough to make it really usable. So
I think that reducing screen resolution makes the problem less bad,
not actually
They do in fact work but they conflict with the existing ubuntu patches
and dpkg-buildpackage somehow 'solved' the conflict by not applying the
patches.

I've tested the 304.43-0ubuntu2_amd64.deb versions and can now
successfully produce and apply colour profiles! Which is great.
Although I enabled the -proposed repository, it didn't show the updated

the deb files using dpkg.

I noticed that one or two weeks ago, did a complete reinstallation of
Lubuntu 12.10 alpha 3 that worked fine until today when I attempted an
update hoping the bug had been fixed in between.
Making
When I boot with previous kernel 3.5.0-6-generic, startup ends up with the
command line.
(I don't know what I should try after logging in to start an X display)

Accepted xserver-xorg-input-synaptics into precise-proposed. The package
will build now and be available at http://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source
/xserver-xorg-input-synaptics/1.6.2-1ubuntu1~precise2 in a few hours,
and then in the -proposed repository.

Xorg crashed with SIGSEGV in
It has been happening to me for approx 1 month.
This ALWAYS AND ONLY happens to me when I CLOSE A BROWSER TAB , 99% of the time
it's google chromium, and once or twice for firefox.
x86_64, intel graphics, ivy bridge, samsung laptop, wifi, pulse, and that silly
rtkit realtime daemon.
