[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1414694] [NEW] drm for intel graphics card fails

2015-01-26 Thread Christian Spann
Public bug reported:

Hello,

After several updates without a reboot my system crashed finally while i
tried to disable alt+ mouse movement in Unity... another story. But now
the xserver refuses to come up.. The bug seems to be this one here:

https://www.libreoffice.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=82368

Sorry if I do not link to the source because libreoffice seems not to be
the original place for xorg bugs to be reported.

Kernel version matches and I guess this must somehow have leaked into
the main ubuntu tree because my System is fully upgraded. Please let me
know if I shall provide any further information.

Best regards,
Christian

Thank you Felix for the attention given to my report. I'll comment about
the fix that has been released directly on bugs.freedesktop.org. The
issue is not solved in my case.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1412602] Re: No live DE in Vivid using nouveau w/GeForce 7025/nForce 630a

2015-01-26 Thread Erick Brunzell
The latest two daily builds are failing for what must be a totally
unrelated issue because they're also failing with different hardware so
I went back to testing the Ubuntu GNOME Alpha 2 live image and it does
boot successfully with the boot parameter nouveau.config=NvMSI=0. So do
we need to edit the bug tags? I'm thinking we may want to add linux but
I'm not sure.

Instead of uploading a new llvm-toolchain-3.5 package to trusty-
proposed, let's reuse the llvm-toolchain-snapshot source package which
already builds all of the relevant binaries in trusty.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1412602] Re: No live DE in Vivid using nouveau w/GeForce 7025/nForce 630a

2015-01-26 Thread Erick Brunzell
I tried the 3.19.0-031900rc5-generic mainline kernel on that
installation and both mutter and compiz based DE's work OK with nouveau,
but the nvidia module fails to build properly against that kernel. I
haven't yet researched what kernel we intend to ship with Vivid.

I started some testing with Ubuntu GNOME 20150125 but it's been bumped
to 20150126 now so I'll wait until I've repeated those tests with the
latest build before commenting further.

2015-01-26 Thread Andrea Azzarone
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to
look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many
changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem
may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if
you could test it on a currently supported Ubuntu version. When you test
it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the updated logs by running
apport-collect bug # and any other logs that are relevant for this
particular issue.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1396361] Re: Double Mouse Cursor

2015-01-26 Thread A. Richard Miller
This bug also affects the Nautilus file manager (and Image Viewer,
Fotoxx, more).

Click and drag any image icon. Presto! Your mouse cursor is changed into
a smaller version of that icon, with an arrow in its upper left and a
second arrow in its upper right. This is nice while you're dragging.
But, and this is the new probem, you then remain stuck with that weird,
wrong mouse cursor until you log out of the session or shut down!

This wrong behavior seems restricted to Ubuntu 14.10; 14.04 remains
okay. (I use 64-bit Ubuntu Desktop on various PC computers.)

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 297143]

2015-01-26 Thread Hskupin
Interesting that this bug is still marked as unconfirmed. I can clearly
see it myself on my laptop running Ubuntu 14.04. It's not that clear to
me yet when it directly starts but it might have something to do with
hibernation. When it occurs the CPU load of Xorg and compiz is raising
up to 60% and stays at this level until the application gets closed. In
my case it is mostly Thunderbird.

I have updated to Ubuntu 14.10 now, and will closely watch this problem
over the next couple of days to maybe find a pattern to reproduce.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1386721] Re: Graphics Slow After Upgrade 14.04 - 14.10

2015-01-26 Thread gnustavo
Same problem here after upgrading from 14.04 to 14.10 in a Dell Latitude
E6410.

I've installed the gnome2-staging PPA (as per #24) and the xorg-edgers
PPA (as per #34) but the problem remains, I'm sad to say.
