Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: xorg
I have done a fresh install of Kubuntu 11.04, did all the updates and
then installed the Nvidia drivers using jockey-kde. After rebooting the
display was all messed up until the KDE splash screen, but that would
stop just as the K was appering.

I'm sure it is causing performance issues as anything that uses VDPAU is
running slower than it was in 10.10. I've also given up trying to do a
clean install of Kubuntu with the Nvidia drivers and it kept hanging
before the desktop loaded.

Not sure if it is related to this bug, but I loaded up PlayOnLinux for
what must've been the first time since upgrading to 11.04 and whenever
it starts, I get an error box saying something like 3D acceleration
isn't enabled.

kdm crashed when coming out of screensaver
Looks like this might be related to OpenGL as it only seems to do it
with OpenGL screensavers and I tried to do an advanced slideshow in
DigiKam over the weekend and that caused a crash when 'use opengl
effects' was enabled.

- kdm crashed when coming out of screensaver

I'm not sure if what I am experiencing here is the same, but if after I
first turn this computer on I open Konsole and do an upgrade X.org will
crash and chuck me out of the desktop. If I try a second time, it works
fine.
Xorg.0.log.old

Backtrace:
[ 1253.413] 0: /usr/bin/X
I tried again last night and it seems that typing anything in to Konsole
causes the crash and if I don't go into the Konsole until half an hour
has passed since I booted it will still crash.

Had the plymouth splash screen working in 12.04, but now I've had to
resort to this website http://news.softpedia.com/news/How-to-Fix-the-
Big-and-Ugly-Plymouth-Logo-in-Ubuntu-10-04-140810.shtml to get it back
