[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1971042] [NEW] remap Fn+F3 to gnome-power-statistics instead of no-use OSD ( L322X 22.04 )
Public bug reported: Hi I migrated my Dell XPS L322X to 22.04 Fn+F3 combo won't trigger gnome-power-statistics anymore the way it did since the sputnik project up to the last upgrade to Trusty. I can't remap with keyboard settings custom shortcuts: when I do this the combo keystroke is detected fine by the GUI that displays "Batterie" (Battery), but the keystroke still brings up the useless OSD (redundant as we already have the battery/mains indicator in the top bar) and won't launch the application. Oh, ok. I wasn't skilled enough to run all the tests freedesktop asked. I don't know if a single sample as given there by Sean IIRC is enough accurate for such a HID that may have its sensitivity range spread around some typical value supplied by the manufacturer. Then maybe it would be worth converting the values from xserver-xorg-input-synaptics to libinput as at least in my l322x, the touchpad was really easy to use. It does. You see, I believe bvr in the string surely stands for BIOS Vendor Release. You are @A08, and I @A10. I read the touchpad range bug 1586683. This is not the same as my laptop is Dell XPS13 developper edition (L322X), and at ~best~ I could say the behaviour is reversed : my TP would have normal sensitivity on right+bottom, and poor on center. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 948053] Re: nvidia-173 and nvidia-96 uninstallable on Precise
@ Johannes Martin Hi Johannes, I tried your tip, not forgetting to chmod +x It didn't worked neither for suspend nor hibernate, but at least I can see briefly on resume/thaw the console login screen. pm-suspend.log doesn't seem to report any error when the wake-up fails. When disabling your script (chmod -x), closing X session then issuing pm-suspend or pm-hibernate from console, both work fine (although no password is asked at wake-up, I get the console session opened), but switching Ctrl+Alt+F7 brings back to black screen, reverting to console impossible and Alt+PrtScn+K ineffective. Sometimes Alt+PrtScn+B reboots the laptop, sometimes not. I wouldn't like to pollute more this thread. Should I post a new bug? And for which package pm/kelnel/xorg/video? ** Description changed: Hey everybody - I have an acer laptop model acer 3810t + I have an acer laptop model acer as3810t The problem I'm experiencing has been present since ubuntu 11.04 up to 12.04 beta2 the thing is that sometimes - out of nowhere (completely random. seems not related to anything) the trackpad stops responding and requires a reboot sometimes it stops responding a minute after I login and sometimes days can pass without me experiencing the problem. I have no idea what causes it. I haven't seen other similar bug reports. I believe that it is an ubuntu issue since I'm also an arch linux user. the problem didn't appear on arch. thanks! [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 970438] Re: Mouse pointer stops responding without known trigger
mouse pointer (of my Acer's AS3810T Synaptics touchpad) freezes every time I do the following things: 1) select Switch from user... (in GNOME fallback session, from the session menu); 2) at the LightDM screen I log in another user (e. g. Guest); mouse cursor works in that another user session, but after switching back to the 1st user I discover the frozen pointer; to unfreeze it, I need to log out from the user session (using keyboard only: Ctrl+Alt+Del and select Log Out) and log in again (sometimes, but not every time, suspend resume helps, so I don't need to log out). --- Do you have any ideas how I can help?
