I have installed 10.04 i386 Desktop on 2 Compaq Evo PCs. On both of them the screen flashes black/white vertical bars when the screensaver kicks in. The system becomes unresponsive but I am able to do ALT+ SYSREQ+ S+U+B. When entering the screensaver gui to change the settings, the problems occurs immediately. I managed to increase the idle time-out using Gconf-editor > apps > gnome-screensaver.
