[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1503450] Re: mesa FTBFS due to missing Requires in mirclient
I've sponsored your mesa change to wily, thanks! Your branch is not against Mir trunk so it can't be merged into lp:mir. Also, you've put Requires instead of Requires.private in the .pc file. This would causes something using mir-client-platform-mesa to link against libmirclient which is not required as the platform headers just contain structs and defines. I've made an alternate branch lp:~robert-ancell/mir/mir-client-platform- mesa-dev-depends with these fixes and an additional missing package dependency but feel free to update your branch if you would prefer to merge that. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to mesa in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1503450 Title: mesa FTBFS due to missing Requires in mirclient To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mir/+bug/1503450/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1501941] Re: Screen turned off after X server exits
I've uploaded this change to wily. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1501941] [NEW] Screen turned off after X server exits
Public bug reported: When the X server exits, the screen turns off and doesn't seem to re- enable. The system is still running (i.e. can SSH in). To reproduce: 1. Log into a session 2. Switch to the greeter (using indicators or running "dm-tool switch-to-greeter" from a terminal") 3. Log back into session Expected result: You return to the session Observed result: Screen goes black This appears to be an issue in the Intel drivers, it occurs with the current wily (2:2.99.917+git20150808-0ubuntu2). It does not occur when downgrading to the vivid version (2:2.99.917-1~exp1ubuntu2.2 with some patches to compile in wily). ** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1501941 Title: Screen turned off after X server exits To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/1501941/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

I've put a patched version of the Intel driver in ppa:robert-ancell/xorg [1]. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1499245] Re: Xmir has its own modified copy of libdri2
This is because the DRI2 code in hw/xfree86/dri2 is no sufficiently generic to be shared. Drivers rely on the symbols in the DRI2 code to work, so splitting it out would require us to keep odd symbols around and have to be very careful not to break anything. I discussed this in XDC 2015 and people agreed it wasn't really suitable to be split out. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1493596] [NEW] Glamor chooses texture format that don't work on Nexus 4
Public bug reported: When Glamor generates textures it does so with format=GL_RGBA and type=GL_UNSIGNED_BYTE using glTexImage2D. However when it writes to these images it does it with format=GL_BGRA and type = GL_UNSIGNED_INT_8_8_8_8_REV using glTexSubImage2D. This works fine on a desktop (Intel) but when running on a Nexus 4 a GL_INVALID_OPERATION is generated when calling glTexSubImage2D. There seems to be a couple of problems: - The format is originally GL_RGBA and then changed to GL_BGRA. glTexSubImage2D says "GL_INVALID_OPERATION is generated if the texture array has not been defined by a previous glTexImage2D or glCopyTexImage2D operation whose internalformat matches the format of glTexSubImage2D." - type GL_UNSIGNED_INT_8_8_8_8_REV is an extension and doesn't seem to be supported on the Nexus 4. By changing the original format to GL_RGBA (in glamor/glamor_utils.h) and the glTexSubImage2D to use format=GL_RGBA type=GL_UNSIGNED_BYTE (glamor/glamor_transfer.c) we can get this to work. The question is - is the current Glamor code to aggressive in using extensions or should it be able to better detect which method is appropriate for each driver? Are there other issues with the X format the pixmap data is in? ** Affects: xorg-server (Ubuntu) Importance: High Assignee: Robert Ancell (robert-ancell) Status: Triaged ** Tags: xmir ** Tags added: xmir ** Changed in: xorg-server (Ubuntu) Status: New => Triaged ** Changed in: xorg-server (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => High ** Changed in: xorg-server (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Robert Ancell (robert-ancell) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1493596 Title: Glamor chooses texture format that don't work on Nexus 4 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/1493596/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1491071] Re: Xmir doesn't update the screen size until something is actually rendered
Yeah, it makes sense to me to just call xmir_output_handle_resize after getting the mir_event_type_resize. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1471998] Re: Support copy-paste between X and Mir
The Unity 8 interface: - Use libcontent-hub - On X selection ownership initiate a transfer to pasteboard - Charge the transfer with content pulled from the X client - Monitor pasteboard for available content (not implemented yet) - Pull content from content hub when X client pastes - Mir will provide cookies for authentication (not implemented yet) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1471998 Title: Support copy-paste between X and Mir To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/1471998/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1471998] Re: Support copy-paste between X and Mir
Can implement copy from Unity 8 to XMir with current libcontent-hub API, cannot implement copy from X to Unity 8. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1481330] Re: Xmir crashes when client closes display
The trigger is the X server resetting - this occurs when the last X client disconnects. This causes the root window to be destroyed and re- created. Thus the Mir surface is destroyed and then (attempted to be) recreated. This occurs when running XMir inside a Unity 8 session, other cases that were tested were: - Running XMir inside mir_demo_server (works fine) - Running Unity 8 directly inside mir_demo_server (works fine) In the normal use case the X server doesn't reset until you have completed using it - the window manager is constantly connected so the reset does not occur. For this reason this bug is not critical but worth investigating when we have the time. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1481330 Title: Xmir crashes when client closes display To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mir/+bug/1481330/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
