I did a fresh install of Ubuntu 9.04 amd64 on this same computer. Then I did apt-get install xserver-xorg-input-evtouch Then edited /usr/share/hal/fdi/policy/20thirdparty/50-touchkit??.fdi to reflect the hardware I'm using. Reboot and now works as desired. swapx=1 in this fdi file re-verted the x
