Public bug reported: On a fresh installation of Ubuntu 11.10 I got problems with the brightness. As soon I try to change it with the keyboard keys I am not able to increase it to a usable value.
The problem is related to the max_brightness set as 1025, while the normal value when the system starts is 119443. These two values comes from the files: /sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:17.0/0000:04:00.0/drm/card0/card0-LVDS-1/nv_backlight/brightness /sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:17.0/0000:04:00.0/drm/card0/card0-LVDS-1/nv_backlight/actual_brightness /sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:17.0/0000:04:00.0/drm/card0/card0-LVDS-1/nv_backlight/max_brightness ** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-nouveau (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-nouveau in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/876416 Title: Low brightness on MacBookPro 7.1 (nvidia VGA) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-nouveau/+bug/876416/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
