Thank you for taking the time to report this crash and helping to make
this software better. This particular crash has already been reported
and is a duplicate of bug #1557346, so is being marked as such.
I've followed the step linked to in
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=104990 and have found that
using 'libinput measure touchpad-pressure --touch-thresholds=105:60
--palm-threshold=230' seemed to work well.
I was not able to format it into the hwdb file, however, so couldn't
actually
For me this is still broken with -proposed packages although this bug
has "Fix Released" status: When I have xserver-xorg-video-nvidia-390
390.48-0ubuntu1 installed, the system boots into a back screen.
Without, LightDM comes up as expected.
lspci excerpt (on a ThinkPad T460p):
00:02.0 VGA
The problem might also involve udev, as by these lines:
[ 800.429] (II) event5 - NextWindow Touchscreen: is tagged by udev as: Tablet
[ 800.429] (EE) event5 - NextWindow Touchscreen: libinput bug: missing
tablet capabilities: btn-stylus resolution.Ignoring this device.
[ 800.429] (II)
Removing xserver-xorg-input-libinput did the tricky.
Now it uses evdev. However, that shouldn't need be necessary.
