Yes the mouse did work, and I was able to use the Super key to bring up
Unity's application menu (on this computer I use Unity). Typing text
didn't work, though.

I, too, have this problem. U+0054 is a "T", and in the normal XTerm logo
there's a blue T at that location. I think Gnome does not handle this

So I did install manjaro and did change to kernel 5.6.1.1.
It doesn't freeze.
I guess problem is with kernel, is it possible to use this kernel on ubuntu?

a) When I do a short press, then immediately after a release, the next option
is selected (the dialog does not have time to appear even).
b) When I do a long press, then the options start to circle very quickly until
I release the key (see the screencast)
