Ubuntu better. It sounds like some part of the system has crashed. To

1. Look in /var/crash for crash files and if found run:

Then tell
Freezing every 10 seconds might be a problem with gnome-shell garbage
collection. Please run this command:
gsettings list-recursively org.gnome.shell > settings.txt
and then attach the resulting text file.

Some Kubuntu commands are with middle mouse, so on touchpads clicks, middle
clicks and right-click should be on pads without buttons too as with buttons.
