I was able to reproduce the issue using old version of the xorg-server
package(2:21.1.4-2ubuntu1.7~22.04.10), for the ones who are

Accepted xorg-server into mantic-proposed. The package will build now
and be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-
server/2:21.1.7-3ubuntu2.10 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed
repository.

clicking bottom half of the currently opened GUI application will make
the other application come to the foreground
Eg: Google Chrome & Eclipse IDE are both in fullscreen,

This appears to only happen if Firefox and Thunderbird are set to use
the "System theme - auto" theme. Manually selecting either the light or
dark theme seems to work around this problem.

Also tried virtualbox this morning on a different win 11 machine with an
nvidia laptop gpu and same thing.
No 3D acceleration is not stable on vmware (crashes after a while)
With 3D acceleration black screens really fast on vmware and virtualbox (which
uses the vmware driver by default)
