Same problem here with Intel D54250WYK NUC box + Audiolab M-DAC which

When I'm trying to play imported or recorded track inside audacity, I
hear only noise followed by short piece of the track. Then it stops
never reaching the end. Sometimes it freezes and I have to kill it.
