[Ubuntustudio-bugs] [Bug 1328217] Re: space bar should allow to easily move around the document without using scrollbars
The Middle Mouse Button Drag is IMHO the easiest method with Inkscape 0.48.4, but according to http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html /View-Pan.html you can also activate Space Bar+Left Mouse Drag thanks to an option in the Inkscape preferences, but it prevents using the Space Bar to toggle between tools (the manual also gives some other useful shortcuts) Note that Space Bar + Move works in the next major revision (0.91, currently under development), and that the tools toggle issue is fixed (see Bug #383871 Let space switch to selector tool even when used for panning). ** Changed in: inkscape Importance: Undecided = Wishlist ** Changed in: inkscape Status: New = Fix Committed ** Changed in: inkscape Milestone: None = 0.91 ** Changed in: inkscape Assignee: (unassigned) = John Smith (john-smithi) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Studio Bugs, which is subscribed to inkscape in Ubuntu. Inkscape lacks this essential feature and obliges you to move through the document horizontally and vertically separately by using the scrollbars, which is tremendously annoying. Or perhaps it has another keyboard shortcut to allow you to easily move around the document using the mouse, different from the universal convention that has been omnipresent in every other graphic editing software in the last 20 years or so. In either case, it should be fixed. [Ubuntustudio-bugs] [Bug 535476] Re: CM106 usb sound card incorrectly detected as stereo only
I can confirm there is something wrong with this USB audio Chipset. The CM106 shows up in lsusb as C-Media Electronics, Inc. CM106 Like Sound Device It is used in external sound cards etc., offering up to 7.1 audio channles, mic + line in, microphone and headphone connectors. And SPDIF, but I never used that. On Ubuntu 12.04 (original release) it was recognized and worked. It offered a bunch of profiles, of which I extensively used the '5.1 output only' one. I also tested the mic input and headphone connectors in other profiles: worked. Sometimes upon plugging in the card it was only recognized as stereo capable device or it was recoginizedas 5.1, but the stereo profile had been selected. Adjusting the settings or killing pulseaudio usually worked. Sometimes also the settings for the balancers got lost. Minor drawback: The card was always set to max volume upon plugging in, no matter what the volume regulator said. Therefore I had to manually switch back to my internal soundcard, then select again the CM106 and finally adjust the volume. Since some recent kernel upgrade (for ubuntu 12.04, but during spring 2014) this all vanished. I now experience the same problems as described above, with the card being only recognized as stereo device. This applies on current Ubuntu 12.04 versions as well as on Ubuntu 14.04. The problem is not dependent on the other hardware of the computer (checked with four entirely different computers). As it once worked a fix might be easily possible, but someone with knowledge of pulseaudio has to look into it. Is there any solution in sight? If anyone is willing to work on this bug I might gladly offer him or her such an device not only for fixing this bug but also as a little reward for the effort. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Studio Bugs, which is subscribed to alsa-driver in Ubuntu. [Ubuntustudio-bugs] [Bug 1334056] Re: LibreOffice opens a TCP port on localhost and doesn't start if the port is blocked
Thanks for this report; I'm unmarking the 'security' flag after a quick inspection of the changes introduced in the most recent update show significant reworking of bluetooth connectivity including some work for remotecontrol devices. It seems more likely to me that requiring a TCP port to localhost is from these than a mistaken debug mode. Thanks ** Information type changed from Private Security to Public -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Studio Bugs, which is subscribed to libreoffice in Ubuntu. Matching subscriptions: Ubuntu Studio Bugs https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1334056 Title: LibreOffice opens a TCP port on localhost and doesn't start if the port is blocked Status in “libreoffice” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: I am on Kubuntu 14.04 amd64 with latest packages of everything (libreoffice-core = Version: 1:4.2.4-0ubuntu2). LibreOffice was working fine until about 2014-06-22 - thats the modification date of the last file which I edited with it. Somewhere between 2014-06-22 and 2014-06-24, a package was auto-updated and now it won't start anymore. It hangs at the splash screen. I've figured out the reason: LibreOffice opens a random TCP port on 127.0.0.1 and tries to connect to it. Because I have blocked connections to localhost in my firewall, the connection fails, resulting in the hang. If I open the port, it works. I cannot add a firewall rule to fix this permanently though because the port is chosen randomly. And why does a text editor need a TCP port anyway? Please do one of the following: - Check whether this is debug functionality which has accidentally been left in. It might be a security issue, so I filed this as security. Please remove the flag if it is not. - Add a way of configuring it to disable the TCP stuff. - Add a way of configuring which port is used . Please do not tell me that denying access to localhost is nonsense: There are certain daemons which do not provide authentication mechanisms, and there are multiuser machines. If I want to protect those daemons on a multiuser machine I need to deny localhost connections by default and work with whitelisting allowed types of connections. [Ubuntustudio-bugs] [Bug 508522] Re: Mic is not available with A2DP Bluetooth profile
if a2dp only support playback, pulseaudio fallback to use on board capture which is steteo ,there will be channel conversion problem when switch back to HFP mono capture do HFP playback mono or stereo ? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Studio Bugs, which is subscribed to pulseaudio in Ubuntu. Matching subscriptions: Ubuntu Studio Bugs https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/508522 Title: Mic is not available with A2DP Bluetooth profile Status in “pulseaudio” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Binary package hint: pulseaudio I'm testing a Nokia BH-905i headset (see http://www.wissel.net/blog/d6plinks/SHWL-8AZGGF ) on Ubuntu 10.10. The Bluetooth module correctly identifies the headset and the both audio profiles HSP/ HFP Telephony duplex and A2DP High Fidelity Playback. For music playback only A2DP is suitable (HSP/HFP sounds like listening to music played through an old telephone). A2DP does not have an INPUT mode, so use of the headset for VoiP isn't possible. What would be needed is a separate selection to allow to select A2DP for output and HSP/HFP for input. Smartphones (a lot of them *nix based) phones do that (or they switch on the fly?). Formal structure: 1) Ubuntu 10.10 2) Pulse-Audio 1:0.9.22~0.9.21+stable-queue-32-g8478-0ubuntu21.1 consisting og pluseaudio, pulseaudio-esound-compat, pulseaudio-module-bluetooth, pulseaudio-module-gconf, pulseaudio-module-x11, pulseaudio-utils 3) Select high quality audio output and still use the Bluetooth microphone 4) Had to choose: either high quality audio or telephone quality with microphone I can change the profile without the Bluetooth connection dropping, but that's ridiculous. E.g. listening to music, a call comes in. Then I would need to switch the profile before answering. Please note that in Windows, Mac OS, iOS, Android, and Windows Mobile it's done automatically.
