Speaking about the 0.91-11 package as found in the official Ubuntu
archive: this seems to be caused by dh_scour being running during the
build, apparently scour tries to optimaze the .svg, but fails shortly on
it do to the particular nature of those particular .svg (containing only
markers/defines, but nothing that uses them).

The best fix here is to just stop calling dh_scour at all, there is no
need for it anyway, and calling it never was intentional at all.

  The list of markers is empty in stroke style dialog.

  I looked at /usr/share/inkscape/markers/markers.svg and found that the
  file contains only comments but no svg code.

  I just noticed that on my 16.10 machine with inkscape it's not possible 
anymore to set arrowheads or -tails on lines anymore. The select buttons for 
head, middle, foot are still there, but offer plain lines only. 

  (See Fill and Stroke Menu, Stroke Style Tab, Markers options)

  On my 16.04 machine there's plenty of options to choose from.

  In stroke style, I am not able to select line markers in 0.92 version

  I am running ubuntu 16.04 LTS. I can not select different markers in
  stroke style after drawing a line. The menu only shows a common line
  option, nothing else. But I can create a object and add it to marker
  (so, "object to marker" function works!). It seems like that inkscape
  can not find all available pre-set markers. Need help!

  PiTiVi fails to render

Bug description:
  I have a project that was rendering just fine and needed to make some
  modifications. I took out the last clip and threw in another one and
  adjusted some of the audio gain lines. Everything played fine in the
  preview window. When I go to export now, as it starts estimating time
  to completion, the time bloats and never starts exporting (by the time
  I hit cancel it was telling me it was going to take 330 hours or
  something to finish rendering). I've tried several times now,
  restarted the application and everything, and am still getting the
  same behavior. Has anyone else experienced this and know how to get
  around the issue?
