without a backtrace is hard to even figure whether the relevant code changed
from your version to another…
So to say, I'd like to ask you if you could check version 1.5.5+svn23928+dfsg-1
as currently available in groovy, and see whether that version keeps crashing.

I open my file in Scribus 1.5.5 and go to a frame with a large chunk of text.
I click the frame and go to the Text Editor.
In the Text Editor window I select my text (or use Select All) and press
Delete.
