Thanks for the suggestion. I setup logging for cgi but unfortunately search.cgi
wasn't complaining verbosely about what was wrong. I decided to write a perl script
to try to access the db and just list the contents of a table. Found out that

Attempting to run search.cgi on Compaq Tru64 5.1 with Apache and Postgres. Can run
./search.cgi and get valid html at the command line. When run from server
(http://server/cgi-bin/search.cgi) Apache gives Internal Server Error and the

This could be incorrect CGI installation. For example if you are using suidwrap and
owner of your search.cgi is root, the you will get the same error. To track such
errors you should look at cgi.log.
