*Re: Donors question choice of Water boss.*
** *Where is our beloved Idi Amin?* *For how long are these imperialists to still call shots in our country?* By Frederic Musisi Posted Friday, April 19 2013 at 01:00 Two donor countries have expressed concern over the manner in which Eng. Silver Mugisha was appointed the new managing director of National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC). According to statement from the Denmark and Germany embassies, recent media reports that President Museveni pushed the NWSC board to front Eng. Mugisha for the post were disturbing to the development partners and contrary to the laws which legalises the water body. “As the board is sovereign to appoint a managing director, it should make its decision with no pressure from outside,” reads part of the April 15 statement signed by Mr Henrik Larsen, the head of affairs at the Danish embassy, and Ms Klaus Dieter Düxmann, the German ambassador. The envoy’s comments come only a week after local press reports indicated that the President had given directives on the appointment of the water boss. “The press reports created the impression that a conclusion reached by the board ranking one candidate first may be revised.” Eng. Mugisha was appointed to the post which has been vacant since November 2011. “As development partners who have been trustfully cooperating with both your ministry and NWSC for many years, we would urgently request information on the process of appointing the new managing director,” the statement addressed to Prof. Ephraim Kamuntu, the minister for Water and Environment, reads. The envoys also requested the minister to examine urgently the information on the process of appointing the new managing director. *musi...@ug.nationmedia.com* ** **
