The Brits simply do NOT get it,or do they... very well then continue giving
Museveni your support. Let play hard ball and we will see who will win...
However, the British Must understand that they do have an interest in Uganda,
which the NRM alone cannot and will NOT address or protect. The Brits know very
well that Museveni and his NRM goones are going to "eat" so to say the said
funds..or use it to fund wars in Northern Uganda or Somalia, they nonetheless ,
still offer Museveni the quid. Well, that stated, this is yet another clear
evidence of Britain unwavering support to Yoweri Museveni's Reign of terror
regime. I say clip the article below and save it... we will shove it on their
face...if and when we start questioning British role in the support of our
oppressor!!

THE United Kingdom has released £35m (about sh120b) for poverty reduction
budget support to the Government this financial year.
Secretary of State for International Development Hilary Benn said, "All the
UK's aid partnership is based on a shared commitment to reducing poverty,
tackling corruption and respecting human rights.
"The strength of our partnership with Uganda depends upon a shared commitment
with these principles."
A statement issued by the Department for International Development (DFID)
yesterday said President Yoweri Museveni was notified of the development during
a meeting with Benn in London on Monday.
"I'm pleased to release the £35m of poverty reduction budget support which I
first indicated was available in June 2006," said Benn.
The release follows an earlier announcement of the funds that was
pegged on government's commitment to tackling poverty, fighting corruption and
respecting human rights.
Benn told Museveni that UK would review its of budget support again at the
beginning of 2007 and was optimistic that further progress would have been made
in improving control of public administration expenditure and tackling
corruption.
The statement said UK's planned aid to Uganda for the 2006/07 financial year
was £70m.
