[Ugnet] WAS KIYIMBA KAGGWA A NATIONAL HERO REALLY !!!!!!!!!!
Friends Now that Reverend Jessica Nakawombe has decided to lower her standards to that level, allow me to pick up on this one. Just for clarification I am not against announcing the death of individuals, we all die and all will at some point get a break out of this crazy world, but when one of ours die and we announce him in a forum to people that dont know him as was yesterday, the moment we decide to define him as a national loss, I have every right to question his list. Supervising the construction of Namboole honestly simply does not cut it and I am surprised that Kadameri on the intelligence he has, decided to even list that. If supervising such a myopic building makes one a national icon, my God I have supervised many many projects I need to be buried in Kololo. But that was my job and it has absolutely nothing to do with the state of Uganda. This city has 3 plus minus million people, and many are smart, but when they die I do not announce them, I may call those like Dr Owor who we live in this city but in UAH? Nah it is not of any value to anyone. But when Jack Layton passed away I made him a thread in the forum. And why? For Jack was a national icon to me as a Canadian and to you as a Ugandan. What Jack Layton accomplished affected the lives of every Canadian. He started the bicycle lanes in the city of Toronto and today they are in all cities in the country. He stopped to smoke on Air Canada now all air crafts from all countries are not allowed to light a cigar as long as you are in Canadian air space. When a concord was still flying, and the pilot enters a Canadian air space he had to ask permission from the minister to use a supersonic speed in our air space thanks to Jack Layton. Jack was a man that sits in his chair and he makes out a policy to be presented to parliament before anyone thinks about it, every one fights it but at the end of the day it passes to become a national policy. All years I travelled in Air Canada, air buses had a smoking and nonsmoking sections, and you had to put it on booking what class you needed to sit in. To go after smoking on air crafts was not easy for millions of people were smoking and opposed it. But it passed into being a national law. There is no more smoking in offices do you know how many people opposed it? Lots yet it passed into a Federal law, a law to protect all of us as Canadians. What has Kiyimba Kaggwa done in Uganda for me to recognize him as a man of a national value? What policy did he create that you look at today and you remember his name? Can you seriously list one? And the moment the answer to that question comes back with none, then state his death in UAH, go away and very privately bury the crap and shut up ! When we fail to recognize the importance of value in making your life useful, we end up with a whole whack of dead Baboons, to use Gwokto s term, when the country continues to go backwards. And here is the list you have this morning, you go back and remind me what they changed in Uganda, Dr Kisekka, Kaziini, Abayombo, Nebanda, John Oditi, MP Tinkasiimires wife, former MP Nampijjas husband, Arinaitwe Joy Kaliisa, Kigundu former MP for Kyotera, Gen Nanyumba, Henry Balikoowa of Kamuli, Michael Oromite, Stephen Malinga, Abner Nangwale, Omwony Ojwok, Eriya Kategaya, Ateker Ejalu, Suleiman Kigundu, William Nyakatura, James Wapakhabulo, Dr Kibirige Ssebunya, Monsignor Lawrence Mbwega. How can I forget Lakwena? Geez You know I can do this all day. I can actually spend a whole day listing you the dead Baboons in Uganda, and all of them are being posted in UAH as a national loss. If all these to Ugandans are a national loss, why are women still dropping off the Mulago firkin floors for no one can yank a baby out of them? Just asking !!! Only ninety years ago, the British South Africa Company owned every square inch of Zimbabwe. Zimbabwean land and natural resources were taken violently and divided amongst European settlers. There are many requirements of travelling’s that you will never list all of them, so what you do it to list the requirements to travel, if they are satisfied then the officer travels. So what you need is the system created to manage those travels. Now that is the way things are done in a normal country, what is in Uganda is different, Ugandans think that Uganda is abroad. Again go back to my posting I did this morning, “Museveni planted a mustard seed in Nairobi” It is caricature for opposition to think that their strength is in The American embassy, The British embassy, the stupidity of Norbert Mao to walk on The White house compound. The silliness of UNAA the silliness of Buganda land board, the silliness of Bakiga organization, the silliness of Ugandans in The Nordics, As all these organizations get created, they are created for the owners need an air time with Ugandans in diaspora than the Ugandans at home. Politics is always local, go home and create the policies then turn around and sell them to the people at home for it is them that elect you. Not me in diaspora not Gook in Kigali but my mother at home. Look at Museveni very carefully, he is strategically at home and he manages the votes, why not Olara Otunnu? Why is Otunu’s voice only in addressing the press or the American embassy in Kampala or addressing Ugandans in UK? And that is the disease eating Uganda opposition. Government officers can travel but my God isn’t our problem today of Mengo that has The Buganda Land Commission in UK and the Buganda conference just closing in the US? How do they get funded? Does it make sense to hold such expenses when you have buildings with such toilets? Langis and Acholis had every right to create external organizations for at a time The North was closed, as soon as the war ended, The Acholis and Langi organizations should have been closed for you cannot operate in Uganda. And why do Bakiga need an external organization? Is there a war in Rukungiri lately? It is the creation of these small entities that the so called politicians in Uganda feed on. There is a starting suggestion out here that we need to start to target these organizations, my God we have an NRM branch in Toronto. Really why? So you need a brand new thinking across the board not across the government alone. I have been in this city many many years but this Buganda Land commission, this Tabamiruka crap has not been here, all this brand new Buganda kind of begging that I never expected Mengo

The law, that came into force in June last year, was meant to deter illegal immigration but was condemned by human rights campaigners as a harsh and illegal way of treating people, especially those fleeing persecution and seeking asylum. A right-wing lawmaker said the court's ruling risked damaging the character of Israel - a state built on Jewish immigration - by opening the door to more Africans, Reuters reports. Chief Justice Asher Grunis said the law contradicted Israel's legal guarantees of basic democratic freedoms, and therefore, it ought to be canceled. Grunis called the three-year term of detention illegitimate constitutionally and noted few inmates would have been likely to be released early as Israel would be unable to deport them to their countries of origin, mostly Eritrea and Sudan. The court's nine-judge panel gave the state up to three months to decide the fate of hundreds of migrants held under the law in desert detention centers. More than 50,000 African migrants have entered Israel since 2006, many receiving temporary permits to live in impoverished parts of Tel Aviv, a situation that has aggravated social tensions. Yariv Levine, a senior lawmaker in Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's right-wing Likud party, accused the court on his Facebook page of making a mad decision to turn Israel from a Jewish state into one of all its immigrants. Netanyahu said he would seek ways to observe the court's decision while implementing our determined policy that has already curtailed the infiltration, and, he said, encouraged thousands of migrants to leave. Liberal legislator Michal Rozin, chairwoman of a parliamentary committee on foreign workers, called the court ruling a welcome move to stop anti-democratic legislation and hoped it heralded a change in Israeli policy toward asylum seekers. The government says most Africans reaching its borders are economic migrants rather than asylum seekers. Rights groups accuse it of being slow to review requests for refugee status. Many Eritrean migrants say they have fled political repression, while many Sudanese say they have escaped civil strife, mostly in the Darfur region. A newly fortified border fence with Egypt has effectively halted the arrivals across a once porous frontier, with government figures showing none having crossed since August after a peak of more than 2,000 a month in late 2011. Interior Minister Gideon Saar said a month ago that Israel was seeking an arrangement to deport most of the Africans to another country, which an Israeli lawmaker confirmed to Reuters was Uganda. Uganda's Foreign Ministry has denied having agreed to absorb any African migrants from Israel. __._,_.___ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Ugandacom/post;_ylc=X3oDMTJxb3FubzdzBF9TAzk3M zU5NzE0BGdycElkAzM3Nzk1ODYEZ3Jwc3BJZAMxNzA1MDE2MDYxBG1zZ0lkAzU4MDUwBHNlYwNmd HIEc2xrA3JwbHkEc3RpbWUDMTM3OTYzNTU2NA--?act=replymessageNum=58050 Reply via web post mailto:robu...@hotmail.com?subject=Re%3A%20ISREALI%20COURT%20ENDS%20INSTANT %20THREE-%20YEAR%20DETENTION%20FOR%20BLACK%20AFRICAN%20MIGRANTS%2E Reply to sender mailto:uganda...@yahoogroups.com?subject=Re%3A%20ISREALI%20COURT%20ENDS%20I NSTANT%20THREE-%20YEAR%20DETENTION%20FOR%20BLACK%20AFRICAN%20MIGRANTS%2E Reply to group http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Ugandacom/post;_ylc=X3oDMTJlOG0yczI3BF9TAzk3M zU5NzE0BGdycElkAzM3Nzk1ODYEZ3Jwc3BJZAMxNzA1MDE2MDYxBHNlYwNmdHIEc2xrA250cGMEc 3RpbWUDMTM3OTYzNTU2NA-- Start a New Topic http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Ugandacom/message/58050;_ylc=X3oDMTM2bGlrcnIz BF9TAzk3MzU5NzE0BGdycElkAzM3Nzk1ODYEZ3Jwc3BJZAMxNzA1MDE2MDYxBG1zZ0lkAzU4MDUw BHNlYwNmdHIEc2xrA3Z0cGMEc3RpbWUDMTM3OTYzNTU2NAR0cGNJZAM1ODA1MA-- Messages in this topic (1) Recent Activity: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Ugandacom;_ylc=X3oDMTJlNnIzY3Q3BF9TAzk3MzU5Nz

Last year, Norm Ornstein of the American Enterprise Institute and Thomas Mann of Brookings wrote a book about this dysfunction known as the new Republican Party. http://www.amazon.com/Even-Worse-Than-Looks-Constitutional/dp/0465031331 It’s Even Worse Than It Looks: How the American Constitutional System Collided With the New Politics of Extremism makes a compelling case that the problems in Washington are not the result of “both sides”—the oft-preferred media frame—but of a GOP that has become all but unrecognizable to most Americans. Ornstein and Mann, both widely respected as straight shooters, describe themselves as moderates and have had long careers working with both parties. In an interview this week, they expressed exasperation with the GOP’s behavior in the debt-limit and budget negotiations. Ornstein lamented that the title of the book today would be It’s Even Worse Than It Was. Said Ornstein: “The bizarreness of this monomaniacal focus on Obamacare, given that it is fundamentally a Republican program from the 1990s mixed in with Romneycare,” says it all. “Obamacare relies on the private sector; there is no public option. That you are willing to bring the country to its knees to sabotage it … just shows this is a party that has gone off the rails.” Just how damaging have the congressional Republicans been to the country? “If you look at what could have happened in a reasonable political system, with give and take … we would have been on a more robust path to growth,” said Ornstein. “We’ve gone from http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2011/08/06/s-p-downgrade-how-the-ratings-agency-is-now-partnering-with-the-tea-party.html one credit agency downgrading us to a far greater likelihood that we will default. If sequester continues … it is a cancer eating away at national parks, food safety, basic research … it’s a terrible situation. No matter how much [Republicans] talk about how it was Obama’s idea … the whole idea was to create such awful consequences that no sane person would accept it. But these aren’t sane people.” GOP stalwarts have framed criticisms of the party as attempts to make it more liberal. That is self-serving denial. The legitimate complaint about the new Republican Party, one you will hear frequently even from Republicans speaking privately, is that it is intransigent and beholden to its most radical elements. Having principles is fine. Imposing them on everyone else through destructive maneuvering that keeps the country constantly on edge is not. “You have to
[Ugnet] WAS THE ELITE CAPITOL POLICE BLOCKED FROM NAVY YARD MASSACRE?
Probe launched over claim that elite Capitol Police unit blocked from Navy Yard massacre Published September 19, 2013 ADVERTISEMENT The board that oversees the U.S. Capitol Police has opened an investigation into whether a tactical team of officers that was one of the first on the scene during the Washington Navy Yard shooting was ordered to stand down. Several sources confirmed the probe to Fox News. The investigation follows reports that a highly trained and specialized Capitol Police team arrived soon after the shooting started, but was told by a supervisor to leave the scene. The BBC, which first reported on the allegation http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/24153252 , quoted a Capitol Police source as claiming lives may have been saved if the team could have intervened. Aaron Alexis killed 12 people at the Washington Navy yard before he, too, was killed. The emerging allegations raise questions as to whether the tactical team could have stepped in earlier to stop the violence. U.S. Capitol Police Chief Kim Dine said the force offered and provided mutual support and assistance on Monday, and that there is a preliminary investigation into the allegations presented. House Administration Committee Chairwoman Candice Miller, R-Mich., also said she's been advised there is currently an active investigation into the allegation. According to the BBC, the Metropolitan Police Department -- the police force for Washington, D.C. -- is denying the claims. One MPD officer was also wounded in the shooting. But an official with the Capitol Police union said the Containment and Emergency Response Team (Cert) -- the tactical team in question -- trains for active shooter situations. They reportedly arrived near the scene within minutes of the report of an active shooter going out and were armed with HK-416 assault weapons. The Capitol Police Board, which is investigating, consists of House Sergeant at Arms Paul Irving, Senate Sergeant at Arms Terry Gainer, Architect of the Capitol Stephen Ayers and Dine. The House and Senate assumed radically different security postures later in the day Monday, with Gainer ordering the Senate on a lockdown in the late afternoon, while the House remained open. The board has set up a fact review team to investigate the Capitol Police response. The results are due no later than Oct. 21. Fox News' Chad Pergram contributed to this report.
