[Unattended] Cygwin unattended install

2006-02-05 Thread Søren Thestrup Hansen

Hi

I've found thatsome
have had success with an unattended install of cygwin. I've tried the
procedure with setup.exe -q (using the cygwinSetup.bat file) but it only results
in a small delay and then it returns to the prompt. If I have cygwin installed
normally first (by stepping through the setup guide), and then deletes the
cygwin directory, then it works just fine afterwards when using the
cygwinSetup.bat. That seems to me as if it requires something in the registry or
the path settings.
Haveany of you had
that experince?

The setup.exe is version 2.510.2.2

Best Regards
Søren

Well, we have build a msi-file for cygwin. This works with unattended
install. But I can't tell you, how this can be created. Sorry

[Unattended] cygwin unattended

2004-06-03 Thread Seth de l'Isle
Hello,

Henrik Bengtsson sent Pat and I and email letting us know that he had created a
really sweet .bat script for unattended installation of cygwin (without
AutoIt). His .bat script looks _a_lot_ smarter than the one I'm using. I
haven't tested Henrik's yet but I wanted to make sure that everyone has the
benefit of his work. Documentation (I'm not kidding) and a link to the batch
file itself are here:

 http://www.maths.lth.se/help/windows/cygwin/

I also added the same link to the wiki at:

 http://www.ubertechnique.com/unattended/Scripts

For the record I've also put my own bone-head version on the wiki:

 http://www.ubertechnique.com/unattended/SethsBoneHeadCygwinScript

Thanks Henrik!
